Pave The Way with a New Song

Good morning!

I know that many of us love this verse:

“See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.””

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭42:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Isn’t that just like God to put a spark of hope in our hearts to keep us going? He is always declaring to our hearts the new things, the exciting things, the hope-filled things that we need for today.

Right after this promise, we are told to Sing to the Lord a new song.

Hmmmm He announces new things before they happen and we sing a new song before we see it happen.

He wants to break through all the old junk we have held onto. He wants us to walk in the fresh, springy joy that He provides as the Way-Maker.

Let’s choose to praise Him before we see the outcome. Let’s choose a “new song” that might feel pretty foreign if we are used to thanking Him AFTER we have seen Him work.

Our new song is filled with shouts of joy knowing that He turns darkness into light because He IS light. Where He is, there can be no darkness.

So our new song will shed light in the darkness and make rough places smooth because we know He does not forsake us... ever.
