Not Outwitted, But Aware

People don't have to be outright sinful to be ineffective for God, they only really need to be confused about what He wants.

This confusion sometimes comes from our own ways of thinking that may have become distorted over time. The confusion often comes from Satan's deception and lies.

No matter which way you dice it, the outcome is the same: paralyzed and ineffective.

How then do we avoid confusion and get effective? It's simple. So simple that we will often breeze over it and think "yeah, I do that." However, if we are still confused or ineffective then perhaps we haven't done it enough, or with the right attitude.

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace 1 Corinthians 14:33

We need to study God's Word carefully and regularly.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17

When I begin to read the Bible, I've tried to get into the habit of first asking the Holy Spirit to reveal new insights and understandings as I read. Even though I forget to do that at times, He always blows me away again.

Why is this so important?

“in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.”

2 Corinthians 2:11

Keeping our eyes wide open and our minds in awareness, we won't be outwitted. We can stand on God's Word and know that it is everlasting!
