Power for your day
Good Morning!
In our Brain Detox group we are on Day 17 and I just absolutely love how God works to teach us things. As the neuroscientist who sends us our daily plan says “Science is catching up with what God already told us.” She always has believed that through the Word of God, our brains can change.
From those changes, we make better decisions which impact ALL areas of our lives.
As she says “The mind is where God’s will is understood, but it is never the source of His will. The will of God originates in Himself, who by the Holy Spirit reveals it to your spirit. You perceive this in your intuition.”
Revelation 22:1 The angel showed me a river with the water of life, clear as crystal flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Developing your intuition and letting the Holy Spirit guide you and speak to you is the work of God. However, I know that we can impede this process. I imagine that river with the water of life with a dam built up. The water is not reaching it’s destination if we aren’t willing to take down that dam. It’s work! Hard work! But by the Spirit and allowing Him to guide and lead us, it’s worth it!
I’ve found that in areas where I want answers faster or I don’t understand why things aren’t going the way I’d like them to, that those are areas of lack of trust.
When I step outside of myself and see how God knows the whole picture, how He understands the ways in which I need to be prepared for what I’m asking, all the other people involved who also need to be prepared, and that the timing is crucial……I just step back and say “I’m so so so glad that YOU are God. I trust that You will do this in Your time. I do not want to put myself in the place of God and try to force things to happen in my timing, because I don’t know the whole picture. Help me, today, to be intentional in what I need to do and to look to You all along the way for direction.”
I believe that is how He develops our intuition and guides us. We don’t put up a dam that will obstruct the flow of His work, but we allow His wisdom, His grace, His power to flow and we just receive it and let it empower us!
I finished my Brain detox for Day 17 and needed an “active reach” to practice through the day. I immediately thought to go look up “the verse of the day” which I rarely do. Two different verses from two different websites consecutively gave me what I needed:
The way of the Lord is a refuge for the righteous, but it is the ruin of those who do evil. Proverbs 10:29
“I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” Luke 24:49
