No Weapon Forged Against You Will Prevail
Even though I know that there is always a spiritual battle going on in the world, I sometimes forget. I seem to be more forgetful when I'm tired or hit with new and different things that are unexpected.
I had one of those days recently and bawled my eyes out to my sweet husband who reminded me that the enemy was just trying to pull me down.
During the days around this time I was very focused on Isaiah 54. Even though I had read it and re-read it, I felt the Lord bringing me back to it yet again. I wasn't quite sure why.
And then I found out why.
My friend and I went to a church service Saturday night (which I almost didn't make it to) and at the beginning, the pastor proclaimed several passages from Isaiah 54 over the congregation. My jaw dropped open and I started to smile so big.
Just when you wonder if God really speaks to you, He blasts you with another reminder. I had been thinking for days, "why can't I move out of this chapter of Isaiah?" He had some treasures that I needed to take to heart.
"Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back"
"All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be your children's peace"
"If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing; whoever attacks you will surrender to you."
"No weapon forged against you will prevail"
-excerpts from Isaiah 54
All of these were pronounced over us at that service. I went up to the pastor after church and asked him how he came to use Isaiah 54 at the start of the service like that. It wasn't part of his sermon so where did he get the notion to use that?
He said that during the beginning of the service while we were singing, he felt the Lord lead him there and that is what he knew he needed to speak to us. I could hardly believe it, but then of course I could. God pays attention to all our details. He kept me in Isaiah 54 all those days leading up to the service, knowing my emotional and spiritual battle. and had Pastor Mike speak those words. He knew ahead of time and planned it all.
We do not ever need to fear that God doesn't hear every word or prayer. He can handle our doubts and He knows what to do to encourage us. You can count on that. And don't forget to thank Him when He does.
No weapon forged against you will prevail. Make sure you stand firm in that. He promised it. It is your promise!
