Promises of God are Near
I sat here feeling confused. I have a few areas of life that need direction and I know God is not a God of confusion.
So I said what was on my heart and asked that He would give me whatever I needed for now.
I do realize that I rarely get the details that I would love to have because if I did, I’d not need to stay so tightly connected to the vine. I’d break my little branch off to go knock out the task and forget the most important part: Stay connected to the Vine!
I was reminded that this is my year of “Commitment.” I was reminded of the last thing He told me to do. Am I doing it? Only partly. So, there we go! Direction for now is to do what He told me the last 900 times I asked lol
It was confirmed as I opened directly to Isaiah 46
The whole chapter is a confirmation but I will give some highlights (and these are for you too!)
“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”
Isaiah 46:4 NIV
That made me smile as I think about how age often flares up in my mind as a detriment. I guess I need to abandon that thought:)
“I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel.”
Isaiah 46:13 NIV
We are recipients of this promise too. He will not delay or be late!
Our human minds feel like it’s never soon enough or fast enough! We need to see it now! But He sees what we don’t see. He sees the undertow that is happening that would overwhelm and drown us if we got what we wanted now.
“Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’”
Isaiah 46:9-10 NIV
Remember & Rest. He’s got this!
