Zero shame addiction
The old familiar Christmas hymn that sings “Let every heart prepare Him room” is resonating in my head today. Oh to give Him room in our hearts and heads.
We so often put Him on the backburner until we think we have time. Let us grasp this concept beyond a temporary fleeting thought, we must prepare Him room! Prepare by setting time aside, by making Him the priority. If we do not make Him our number one priority, then no other priority in our life will ever be or stay on track. I can promise you that.
I’ve lived that myself in many ways. I’ve set Him aside for a different time and a more convenient season of my life. How quickly I was derailed. I did not recognize how off track I got until I was so far gone that I needed a major rehaul. I have decided that I need to Prepare Him room. Every day. Every situation.
Some people may consider that an addiction. Yep. I’m addicted to God and I have zero shame about it. He is the only way that I can keep my mind right or act according to His will. I don’t have it in me without Him.
Jesus is the rising sun from heaven that Luke records:
because of the tender mercy of our God,
by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven
to shine on those living in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the path of peace
He came to bring light to all. I don't know if I'm being overly simplistic but I absolutely have always loved the precious thought that "His mercies are new every morning" and that the sun rises to push away darkness EVERY day AND on ALL people.....not just those who are righteous or did things perfectly. Everyone! We all get to take ahold of the mercy and light of Jesus each and every day! Please don't let that thought slide away from you. He is the only light powerful enough to push away our darkness, our hang-ups, or our faults.
Revel in the thought that His love is "all-embracing"!!! wow
