I finished off a devotion book recently that took a while to get through. I’ve been doing the study with Angie and Marmaloo and we had some delays for various reasons along the way.
As I finished the end of the devotions, it asked me to go back to the beginning prayer that I had prayed “My letter to the Lord”
We had been asked as we began this study to look over the last year and what our life experience has been and what are you facing and what has God been teaching you. It is no accident that you are doing this study, the author wrote. God has something for you. Watch for it, listen for it and learn it and write it down.
The letter is dated 11/18/2016. This is before God sent us to Tennessee and while I was still in a perplexed state as to what surgeon would handle my tummy issue. I had gotten to a bit more peace but I was still uncertain.
This is what I wrote:
Thank you for all that you are doing and have done in my life. Thank you for Your life-sustaining power and grace. Thank You for giving me many chances to get it right, to love You more and to act on more of the Spirit fire You’ve put in me. I pray that you would work through this health situation with my belly so that You would shine, If anything I do or say does not align with You, I pray You would gently guide me, as You do, to be more in tune with you. I ask and seek You for a surgeon, for the right choice and that my Fire would stay On Fire.
To think how God brought the brightest shining miracle during this past year!
God is in the business of miracles and I’m so grateful! His timing is perfect. His ways are better than anything I would dream up!
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us Ephesians 3:20
I know you have things that you can recall that you can hold onto also! I’d love to hear about those! Those are things that make us hold onto hope and remember how good God is!
