Shoes and Peace-can I get an Amen?!

This week I've been studying on the Shoes of Peace. Anyone who knows me, knows shoes grab my attention :) For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.

Ephesians 6:15 The Bible study that my mom's women's group is doing and the one I'm doing on the Armor of God breaks down the various pieces of "armor" that we need in order to face and fight the real war going on that we don't see. Shoes protect our feet so that we can stand our ground and not get injured, and we can move forward securely, more than if we ran ahead barefoot. But why the shoes of peace? As Priscilla Shirer says, and I'm taking to heart and thinking about more today.... Thanksgiving activates peace Trust fuels thanksgiving

We start with trusting that God will guard and guide us. In this we can have peace. By trusting, we can be thankful even before we know the outcome.....and we actually NEED to be thankful before we know the outcome because that displays our trust! This is the peace beyond all human understanding. This is the hole that needs filling--not by food, substances, relationships, success or any other means--but by the one who knows our hearts, minds and souls and can provide the peace we yearn for!!!

So, each day I practice this and work on: Being thankful when I don't know the answer and trusting that God has a plan and dwelling in the peace He alone can give.
